The French TWINS team got a taste of sailing the eXtreme 40 earlier this year, and are clearly hooked — becoming the second team to sign up for the 2008-2009 Grand Prix Series. Skipper Maris is a one-design keelboat champion, having won the 2006 Mumm 30 World Title. Trimmer Thierry Fouchier is a French sailing icon, with three America’s Cup campaigns under his belt he also crewed for Franck Cammas on the Groupama maxi multihulls. Tactician Philippe Mourniac sailed in the French Olympic Team and also been involved in several America’s Cup campaigns, whilst bowman Eric Quesnel was part of K-Challenge. The four crew members have teamed up in the Farr 40 class before, so should be a great team.
