The concept of the eXtreme 40 2008-2009 Grand Prix Series is all about bringing sailing right into city centres, and the ultra-nimble Extreme 40s will be racing on tight racecourses as close to the beach or seawall as possible in short, sharp races every afternoon from 14.00pm.

The eXtreme 40 was created with two things in mind: action and adrenaline! A gap was seen in the Grand Prix sailing market for a fast, inshore catamaran, which would be not only exciting to watch but cost-effective to run. TornadoSport created the concept of the Extreme 40 with Yves Loday designing the racing machine.
